BREEAM Excellent

Building Revolution uses BREEAM-NL in many projects.

BREEAM-NL Excellent is a challenging score, but achievable. Since the BRL V6 in In-Use, the In-Use scores are no longer the same as the other guidelines. Below is an explanation for each BREEAM guideline:

BREEAM Excellent New Building Guideline

In New Construction, a BREEAM Pass is 70% and 4 stars.
However, there are some mandatory components since the 2020 BREEAM Directive.
Credits MAN 03, MAN 04, MAN 05, HEA 01, HEA 04, ENE 01 (6 points), ENE 02, WAT 01, WAT 02, MAT 01 (3 points), WST 03 and LE 04 have obligations.
This level is much higher than Buildings Decree

BREEAM Excellent In-Use Guideline

In In-Use, a BREEAM Excellent is 70% and 5 stars.
This has changed since the BREEAM guideline V6.

BREEAM Excellent Area Guideline

In Area is a BREEAM Excellent is 70% and 4 stars
There are some mandatory components since the BREEAM Directive 2018, though.

BREEAM in general

Er zijn verschillende niveaus BREEAM certificaten. BREEAM staat voor Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method. De methode komt oorspronkelijk uit Engeland en is ontwikkeld door het Building Research Establishment (BRE). In the Netherlands, BREEAM is managed by the Dutch Green Building Council (DGBC) and there are special adapted guidelines for the Netherlands, BREEAM in the Netherlands is therefore formally called BREEAM-NL.
