BREEAM Very Good is already one of the more challenging scores. Since the BRL V6 in In-Use, the In-Use scores are no longer the same as the other guidelines. From Very Good onward, the percentages are the same, but the stars differ. Below is an explanation for each BREEAM guideline:
BREEAM Very Good New Build Guideline
In New Construction, a BREEAM Pass is 55% and 3 stars. However, there are several mandatory components since the 2020 BREEAM Directive. Credits MAN 03, MAN 04, MAN 05, HEA 01, HEA 04, ENE 01 (3 points), ENE 02, WAT 01, WAT 02, MAT 01 (2 points) and LE 04 have obligations. This level is much higher than building code

In the Netherlands, BREEAM is managed by the Dutch Green Building Council (DGBC) and there are special adapted guidelines for the Netherlands, BREEAM in the Netherlands is therefore formally called BREEAM-NL.

For new construction projects, there is BREEAM-NL New Build.
Existing buildings are assessed with In-Use.
Demolition Projects with Demolition and Dismantling.
Complete areas with BREEAM-NL Area.
