Who is Building Revolution?

Building Revolution is a young, energetic engineering firm with a clear mission: to genuinely improve the world through our work. By driving sustainability forward, we help create a greener future for everyone. We’re contributing to a sustainable revolution, building a future our children can rely on. Sustainable buildings, accessible to all. And one day, we’ll be able to tell our children that what we did in our careers helped make their world a little better.

Simon has the ability to look at projects with a broad perspective, often identifying opportunities and solutions that hadn’t been considered yet. He also serves on the board of YOUNG TVVL, works as an Official for the KNZB, and holds several volunteer roles within the Reformed Church of Vaassen. 

With more than 10 years of advisory experience, Simon brings both depth and versatility to every project. 

In 2021, he was named one of the top three BREEAM Assessors of the year, a significant recognition considering there are over 2,000 assessors. Simon is a BREEAM-NL Assessor and Expert for New Construction and In-Use, as well as an Area Development expert and certified BCI Expert.

Marco van Brink

Marco is our MPG specialist and also an expert in both BCI and GPR. He completed the One-Click LCA Summer School program and has worked on dozens of MPG assessments, ranging from residential buildings to large-scale commercial projects, all delivered to a high standard. With a background in building services engineering, Marco also volunteers at Cavente in Vaassen, where he helps organise a meaningful event for children up to 12 years old. Marco is a certified BREEAM-NL Expert for New Construction, Area Development, and In-Use.

Marco Grootjans

Marco is our BREEAM specialist. With strong management experience, he knows exactly how to set up, coordinate, and oversee projects from start to finish. He is a certified BREEAM-NL Expert for New Construction, In-Use, and Area Development. Marco has also guided numerous GPR projects as a certified GPR Expert and GPR Assessor.

Tanja Koelman

Tanja has a clear focus on BREEAM In-Use. With genuine enthusiasm and strong technical expertise, she guides projects from start to finish, mainly in the Amsterdam region. She understands the local dynamics, responds quickly, and ensures a smooth and efficient process. She is a certified BREEAM-NL In-Use Assessor and an Expert for both New Construction and In-Use. This broad skill set makes her a valuable partner for clients who are truly committed to advancing sustainability.

Nima Nourbakhsh

Nima holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in industrial engineering, as well as a PhD in business administration. He has twelve years of experience managing a wide range of projects across five countries, including the Netherlands. He uses his expertise to help prevent energy waste in various industries and is also actively involved in the Quality Assurance for Construction Act (Wkb).

Alex Tran

Alex brings strong expertise in both sustainability and engineering. He holds a master’s degree in Sustainable Energy Technology and a bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics. With extensive experience in BREEAM and a deep motivation to contribute to a sustainable future, he is committed to making a real impact.

Wim van 't Einde

Wim has many years of experience in project management, auditing, and advisory roles within the public sector. He is specialised in risk management and quality assurance and represented the Netherlands internationally for several years in various ISO working groups. As a GPR and EP consultant, Wim is committed to sustainable solutions and improved building performance, always considering the energy transition and its broader social impact. His volunteer work earned him a royal decoration and a nomination for Volunteer of the Year.

Bram de Leeuw

Bram is a dedicated consultant with a background as a former EP advisor and a fresh start as a GPR consultant. With many years of experience in the energy performance field, he has a deep understanding of sustainable solutions and how to optimise building performance. As a newly certified GPR consultant, Bram now focuses on integrating environmental performance into the broader context of construction and real estate projects. With a pragmatic, results-driven approach, he aims to provide every client with practical, achievable, and sustainable advice.

Mandy Geerts

Mandy has a background in graphic design and a strong interest in media and communication. She is dedicated to creating a clear and consistent visual identity. With an eye for detail and a creative approach, she ensures that our communication and overall presentation align seamlessly with Building Revolution’s sustainable mission.

Will you join us in being the Building Revolution?

Construction accounts for 25% of CO2 emissions. Reducing this makes for huge strides in sustainability. Would you like to grow with us as a Sustainable Buildings Consultant and specialize in guiding sustainability and energy efficiency improvements in both new construction projects and existing buildings? In this role, you will fulfill an essential position in designing sustainable buildings that meet the latest standards for energy performance and sustainability. Working within an inspiring and entrepreneurial team, you will be challenged to continually learn and innovate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Expert Sustainability Advice: You will analyze in detail new construction plans and existing buildings and offer advice to optimize them in terms of sustainability, energy performance and airtight construction. This can be for example with BREEAM, GPR or BCI.

  2. Reliable BENG calculations: You perform accurate BENG calculations to evaluate the energy performance of buildings and comply with applicable standards.

  3. Thorough MPG calculations: You provide thorough Environmental Performance of Buildings (MPG) calculations to assess and minimize the impact of building materials on the environment.

  4. Efficient Energy Performance Calculations: You perform various energy performance calculations to ensure buildings are energy efficient and in line with applicable laws and regulations.

  5. Clear Reporting:You prepare clear reports with your conclusions and recommendations for clients, architects and other stakeholders.

  6. Effective Collaboration: You work closely with clients, the design team, engineers, developers and other stakeholders to integrate sustainability goals into all phases of the construction process.

  7. Inspiring Innovation and Development: You continuously keep up to date with the latest trends and developments within sustainable construction methods, materials and energy efficiency. You will also contribute to enriching internal knowledge in this area.
