What ESG Means
ESG consists of three core pillars:
Environmental
Covers the environmental impact of an organisation, including carbon emissions, climate adaptation, biodiversity, waste reduction and energy efficiency.
Social
Addresses working conditions, tenant wellbeing, health and safety, community impact, diversity and stakeholder relationships.
Governance
Focuses on leadership, transparency, accountability, anti corruption policies, data privacy and responsible decision making.
As ESG becomes more important for financial and reputational performance, companies must provide reliable and verifiable information on these areas.

ESG contributes to lower operational costs and improved asset value
Although many reporting standards exist, there is no universal format. This creates challenges in determining how organisations should report ESG performance. The CSRD covers this gap, but ESG as a concept remains broader and foundational.
