The BREEAM sustainability process explained

BREEAM stands for Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method. The method was originally developed in England by the Building Research Establishment. In the Netherlands, BREEAM is managed by the Dutch Green Building Council and includes guidelines specifically adapted for the Dutch market. In the Netherlands it is formally known as BREEAM NL.

A BREEAM assessment is carried out by a certified Expert or Assessor. Building Revolution has extensive experience with both roles. We ensure that your BREEAM project or building achieves the desired rating, whether that is Good, Very Good, Excellent or Outstanding.

BREEAM Guideline (BRL) 2014

The BREEAM Guideline (BRL) 2014 was introduced in 2014. From 2014 to 2020, this guideline applied to all new construction projects. Since the introduction of BRL 2020, newly registered projects must follow the updated guideline. Renovation projects are still required to use BRL 2014 and can continue to register under this version. BREEAM In-Use

BREEAM Portfolio

The BREEAM-NL In-Use Portfolio Approach was developed by the DGBC to accelerate and optimise the sustainability process for existing real estate. It allows property owners and managers to certify a larger number of assets at the same time, while maintaining the accuracy and reliability of the BREEAM-NL In-Use scheme.

BREEAM Area

BREEAM Area currently uses the BREEAM Guideline (BRL) 2018.
